If you are a fan of DC Comics Bombshell Variants from last June (June 2014) then strap in, because you are in for a treat. First up will begin releasing a new Digital first series centered around the Bombshell characters. It will be written by Marguerite Bennett and have art by Marguerite Sauvage. The series “Introduces retro-bombshell versions of Batwoman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl in an alternate reality where super-powered female heroes are on the front lines in WWII (DC Comics).” The series will begin releasing digitally first in July with the first print version released August 12th.
I assume the series will be like most of their other digital first series where digital versions will be released weekly for 99 cents and print versions will collect every three to four digital issues and release for 2.99 to 3.99. This isn’t the first time DC has released a comic series based on one of their lines of figures. Back in 2012 they had a Digital first series based of the Ame-Comi statues that was actually pretty good (check it out here on Comixology).
There will also be new Bombshell statues! DC released pictures of the first two featuring Killer Frost and Cheetah.
It is no secret that the of the DC Comics Variant Cover theme months the most popular by far has been the Bombshell themes. Since their release DC has put their Bombshell characters on statues, glass wear, t-shirts, lip balm, you name it. So it’s pretty exiting then that DC have just announce that they will be releasing another set of 21 Bombshell variant covers this August! Not only did they just announce they are coming out but they also released them all on their website! So check them out and start saving your money now!
DC continues their theme variant covers in July (2015) with Teen Titans Go! There will be 23 total spanning across various books. This is going to take place once the Convergence Event is over so there are a lot of new titles joining the fold this time.
Usually these variant covers sell out pretty quickly but I got a feeling these Movie Poster variants won’t last the day they go on sale. I’m hoping to pick some up but more likely will be forced to get them off ebay.
Who better to represent the month of love than every ones favorite Harley Quinn. In February DC Comics will be releasing a series of 22 covers. Also don’t forget to pick up the Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special as seen above.
January will have a new set of Variant Covers from DC. This months theme will be the 75th Anniversary The Flash and the scarlet speedstar will be photo-bombing some of the most iconic comic book covers of all time. Here are all 22 covers that will be out throughout January.
I’m a little late in posting this but here is the complete list of all 23 Darwyn Cooke Variant covers DC released for November.
In the summer of 2006 I spent a summer doing an internship out of town in which I rented a room in a house that I found on craiglist. It winded up being ok but the house was in a sketchy part of town and every morning I expected my car not to be there when I drove to work. The upside was that the house was very close to the concert venues in town and I went to quite a few shows that summer. The one that sticks out to me the most was when I saw a rapper named El-P. It was as a very small venue and it was raining. I remember it was raining because the roof was leaking and there were buckets all over the floor. I got to the show an hour after doors open and it was another hour before the first group went on and at least 12:30 before El-P took the stage. I thought about leaving several times before he got on but for some reason stuck it out. I am really glad I did because to this day it was the greatest concert I’ve ever been to in my life.
So I’m a pretty big fan of El-P and when he teamed up with Killer Mike to form Run the Jewels I was on board. The group just recently released their sophomore album titles Run the Jewels 2. It was financed through kickstarter and you can get the entire album free from their site Right Here.
Well it looks like there are some folks at Marvel that are as big of fans as the rest of us and they have announced two Run the Jewels Variant Covers.
Deadpool Issue 45
Howard the Duck Issue 2
Hopefully these aren’t retailer incentive issues and I’ll be able to pick them both up at a reasonable price. Click here to see the original article by the Rolling Stone. And here is the video for Oh My Darling (Don’t Cry).
Last month was monster variants in honor of Shocktober, this month is Lego Variant Covers due to the release of Lego Batman 3. I’m a big fan of the Lego video games and will definitely be picking it up. Here are all 22 issues.
We may all ready be half way into Shock-tober, the holiest of months, but its never too late to start celebrating. First thing we have is that all month long DC Comics is going to be releasing Monster Variant covers to a lot of the comics coming out this month. In the past these line wide variants had been more rare but since March of this year there has been some sort of line wide variant every month.
There was Scribblenauts, Steampunk, Robot Chicken, MAD Magazine, Batman 66, Bombshells, Batman 75th Anniversary, Selfie, and now Monsters.
Here is the complete compilation of all the monster variants coming out this month.
